Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Journey to Tarangire • Wildlife & Baobab Landscapes • Overnight at Your Lodge

After breakfast, meet your professional safari guide and depart for Tarangire National Park.
The drive passes through agricultural areas, small towns, Maasai grazing lands and the open countryside of Northern Tanzania.
Upon entering Tarangire, begin a game drive through acacia woodland, grasslands, seasonal wetlands and the river valley.
The park is especially known for its large elephant population. Herds may be seen feeding beneath baobab trees, moving toward water or gathering in extended family groups.
Other possible wildlife includes lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, waterbucks and warthogs.
During the green season, Tarangire becomes lush and productive. Migratory birds arrive in large numbers, adding to the park’s already impressive birdlife.
Enjoy lunch inside the park or at your accommodation, depending on the selected program.
Continue with an afternoon game drive before arriving at your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.
Tarangire Game Drive and Transfer to Karatu
Final Tarangire Safari • Transfer to the Ngorongoro Highlands • Overnight Stay

Begin the morning with another game drive in Tarangire National Park.
Early morning is often an excellent time to search for predators and observe wildlife while temperatures remain cooler. Elephants may move between feeding and water areas, while lions and leopards may still be active after the night.
Explore a different area of the park according to wildlife movements and road conditions.
After the morning game drive, leave Tarangire and travel toward Karatu and the Ngorongoro Highlands.
The route gradually climbs into a fertile landscape of farms, forests and highland communities.
Arrive at your accommodation and spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing.
Optional activities may include a guided nature walk, coffee experience, village visit or lodge-based activity, depending on the location and available time.
Dinner and overnight in Karatu or the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater • Full-Day Game Drive • Return to the Highlands

Depart early for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
After completing the entrance formalities, travel to the crater rim and descend approximately 600 metres to the crater floor.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and contains an extraordinary concentration of wildlife.
Its grasslands, wetlands, freshwater springs, forest and alkaline lake support lions, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, spotted hyenas and several antelope species.
The crater is also among Tanzania’s better locations for observing the endangered black rhinoceros, although sightings remain unpredictable and cannot be guaranteed.
Explore the Lerai Forest, open grasslands, marshes and the shores of Lake Magadi. Seasonal birdlife may include flamingos, crowned cranes, storks and birds of prey.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated location on the crater floor.
Continue the safari during the afternoon before ascending the crater walls and returning to your accommodation in the highlands.
Ngorongoro Highlands to Central Serengeti
Scenic Drive Through Ngorongoro • Explore Central Serengeti • Overnight Stay

After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward Serengeti National Park.
The route crosses volcanic landscapes and traditional Maasai grazing areas where livestock and wildlife share the wider ecosystem.
An optional visit to Olduvai Gorge Museum may be arranged for guests interested in archaeology and early human history.
Continue toward the Serengeti as the highlands gradually give way to open plains.
Enter Serengeti National Park and begin an en-route game drive toward the central region.
Central Serengeti is one of the park’s most productive year-round wildlife areas. Permanent water sources around the Seronera River support a high concentration of resident animals and predators.
Search for lions around granite kopjes, leopards resting in riverine trees, cheetahs on the open plains and elephants moving between woodland areas.
Arrive at your accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening.
Full-Day Central Serengeti Safari
Full-Day Serengeti Safari • Search for Iconic Wildlife • Dinner & Overnight

Spend a complete day exploring Central Serengeti.
Begin with an early morning game drive when predators are often active and the temperature is cooler.
The Seronera region includes river valleys, grasslands, acacia woodland and granite kopjes. These varied habitats support lions, leopards, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, elephants, giraffes and numerous plains animals.
Leopards may be seen resting in trees along the river, while lions often use kopjes as shade and vantage points. Cheetahs prefer open areas where they can scan for gazelles.
Your private guide will plan the route according to recent sightings and your specific interests.
Choose between a full-day safari with picnic lunch or separate morning and afternoon game drives with a midday break at camp.
During the calving season, some migration herds may also be encountered in the wider central or southern areas, depending on rainfall.
Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Central Serengeti to Ndutu and Southern Serengeti
Scenic Drive to Ndutu • Explore the Migration Plains • Dinner & Overnight

After breakfast, depart Central Serengeti and travel south toward Ndutu.
The journey is conducted as an extended game drive, allowing time to search for wildlife along the route.
Depending on seasonal rainfall, migrating wildebeest and zebras may be encountered across the southern plains as you approach the Ndutu ecosystem.
The landscape gradually changes from central river valleys and woodland to open short-grass plains, acacia woodland and seasonal lake environments.
These nutrient-rich plains are the main destination for the migration herds during the calving period.
Begin exploring the Ndutu region while travelling toward your accommodation. Your guide will use current wildlife information to locate productive areas.
Possible sightings include large wildebeest herds, zebras, gazelles, giraffes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas and jackals.
Arrive at your seasonal tented camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.
Full-Day Ndutu Calving Season Safari
Full-Day Ndutu Safari • Witness the Calving Season • Explore the Migration Plains

Spend the full day following the migration herds across Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti.
During the peak calving period, thousands of wildebeest calves may be born each day across the wider ecosystem. Newborn calves begin standing shortly after birth and must quickly keep pace with their mothers.
The concentration of young animals attracts predators. Cheetahs hunt across the open plains, lions patrol the herds and spotted hyenas search for vulnerable calves.
Your guide will adjust the route based on current sightings, rainfall patterns and road conditions.
The migration may be spread across a wide area rather than concentrated near one road or lake. A picnic lunch allows you to remain in the field and explore the most productive zones.
In addition to the migration, the region may provide sightings of bat-eared foxes, servals, caracals, jackals, elephants, giraffes and a wide variety of birds.
Return to your accommodation in the evening.
Ndutu Game Drive and Flight to Arusha
Final Ndutu Game Drive • Scenic Flight to Arusha • Onward Transfer

Begin the final day with an early morning game drive in the Ndutu region.
Morning is often one of the most productive times for wildlife observation. Predators may still be active, while migration herds spread across the plains to graze.
Depending on the scheduled flight time, return for breakfast or continue with a picnic meal.
Transfer to the nearest operational airstrip and board a scheduled light-aircraft flight to Arusha.
The flight provides aerial views of the Southern Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Highlands and the landscapes of Northern Tanzania.
Upon arrival, a Quest Horizon Safaris representative will provide the appropriate transfer to:
